Training Update

So it's been a long few weeks. The training is really starting to catch up with me--well that and the low calorie-thingie;-) I am now in week three of eating 1300 calories a day with an average of 2 hours of training a day (some days higher, some a little lower) and am down a little over 6lbs. (For those of you reading this, I am under close supervision of  qualified coaches and nutritionist/licensed dietitian, so don't worry and don't try it at home:-). I also think I am gaining a lot of muscle which is good so my weight isn't dropping more than 2lbs a week, but when you lift two hours a day three days a week I would guess that is to be expected.

I started off the year with cutting weight, but went through a few injuries (quad tears and groin strains) and then did some international travel, so have put off shaving down to race wight until now, but now it really is down to the wire because Worlds is only two and a half months out. Anyway, hopefully by next Monday I will be down 8lbs and only have another 3 or 4 to go to get me where I need to be weight wise and body fat wise.  I have hit almost every workout, minus one or two and have been religious about my weight sessions and it is really starting to show. I think I am hovering around 17% body fat, right now, but it could be a bit lower, not really sure. Will do a retest next week. The goal is to get down to about 14-15% to match what the top girls at Beijing will be carrying weight and body-fat wise. I think it is starting to show too, as I have received comments at track practice on how lean I am looking. That is always a good thing when others can tell, as I think when we live with ourselves we can never see the results like those who do not see us regularly can/do.

Anyway, after last night's track practice, and this morning's swim practice of sprint sets and kick sets I am completely fried. I have a 5 mile run and 2+ hours of weights this evening and tomorrow another Beijing Computrainer and treadmill simulation workout. I am thankful that these workouts are inside--it is way too hot to be outside right now. Ughh, yea, I think I may die on my late afternoon run. I wish it would rain--ok, so I better hydrate since no rain appears to be in the forecast.
